2. Watch “A Symphony of Lights”

Labeled as ‘The World’s Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show’ by Guinness World Records, this breathtaking show that happens every eight in the evening celebrates the energy and vibrance of Hong Kong through spectacular synchronization of music and lights from different buildings on both sides of the harbour, making the city as the whole stage for this performance. There are five main themes in this show, namely ‘Awakening’, ‘Energy’, ‘Heritage’, ‘Partnership’, and ‘Celebration’.

3. Climb Up The Victoria Peak

The highest peak of Hong Kong offers the best views of the city, either during the day or at night. The panoramic spectacle summarizes the dazzling life of the lively neighbourhood, spanning almost the entire collection of towering landmarks. The most scenic way to climb up is by the Peak Tram, as it ascends at an extreme angle through an antique railway. The so-called Sky Terrace 428 located at the anvil-shaped Peak Tower is the vantage point to see the cityscape below.

4. Taste the Cantonese Cuisine

Visit to Hong Kong will be incomplete if you haven’t tasted the well-known Cantonese foods, which are one of the most served Chinese foods in the world. This style originated in the Guangdong Province, and dominates the eight culinary traditions of Chinese cuisine. It includes the original dim sum dishes, Chinese-style barbecue, wonton, roast goose, chicken feet, and a lot more.

5. Enjoy Shopping Around

Hong Kongers love to shop. There are countless numbers of shopping districts present around the city, including night markets and high-end malls. This is a paradise for the bargain hunters, and almost everything can be found here, whether cheap bags or high-end brands. Most of the bigger malls can be found in Causeway Bay and Central, while the smaller, traditional shops are located at Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui.

6. Stroll Along Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade

Walking along this piece of reclaimed land leads you to an unobstructed view of the magnificent architectural display of Hong Kong Island. Starting at the Clock Tower, a stroll eastward takes you to the fabulous Avenue of Stars, a 400-meter long bridge section developed by the film industry of Hong Kong, and a distance further to most of the museums in the region.

7. See the Big Buddha in Lantau Island

By climbing up the 268 steps, you will have a closer look of the second largest outdoor sitting Buddha in the world. This Big Buddha, also known as Tian Tan Buddha, is 34 metres high and weighs over 250 metric tons. With its location, it can even be spotted from a distance as far as Macau from a clear day. It can be reached by riding a cable car that runs to and from Ngong Ping Village, or by bus.
